The mold of the arc continuous casting machine is arc-shaped.

Both the mold and the secondary cooling section are configured on the quarter arc. Before being straightened, the billet moves downward along the arc and solidifies.

The arc caster is mainly used to cast small billets and round billets below 150mm.

Arc Continuous Casting Machine

The Arc Continuous Casting Machine is also called a full arc continuous caster.

The mold of the arc continuous casting machine is arc-shaped.

The secondary cooling device forms an arc billet in the mold in a quarter of the arc. During the downward movement along with the arc roller table, it receives water spray cooling until it is completely solidified.

After full solidification, the billet enters the straightener at the horizontal tangent point,  then cut to a fixed length.

The mold is arc-shaped, so the drawn billet is also arc-shaped. Both the mold and the secondary cooling section are configured on the quarter arc. Before being straightened, the billet moves downward along the arc and solidifies. It is straightened once with a five roller tension leveler in front of the vertical center tangent point.

When the billet is straightened, the inner arc extends outward and the outer arc is extruded inward. Because the five roller tension leveler is single-point straightening.

In order to prevent the billet from cracking, breaking, and internal damage, the deformation of the billet should be controlled within the allowable deformation coefficient, and the arc radius should be increased, which is the reason why the arc machine should be built.

The arc caster is mainly used to cast small billets and round billets below 150mm.

Process Characteristics of Arc Continuous Casting Machine:

First, the arc radius is 13 meters.

Because the size of the arc radius can directly match a variety of different steel grades for flexible production, the production range of the square and round billet caster is greatly widened. Improving the quality level of the internal billet, not only effectively improves the control effect of the caster but also improves the flexibility of production and promotes the improvement of the comprehensive benefits of the enterprise.

 

Second, square billet and round billet can be produced together.

Third, the automatic protection technology.

Because the automatic equipment is added to the square and round billet continuous caster, the distribution uniformity of protective slag is realized by effectively controlling the addition speed of protective slag.

In addition, the application scope of automatic protection technology also includes improving the lubrication conditions inside the mold and promoting the overall efficiency of production, so as to reduce the production risk and improve the overall profit.

 

Fourth, the automatic mixing technology.

A built-in hollow crystallization electromagnetic stirrer is set inside the square and round billet arc caster to achieve the effect of synchronous production of the slab surface and internal structure, which greatly improves the internal quality of the slab.

Since the application principle of automatic stirring technology mainly depends on electromagnetic stirring, the energy consumption is reduced.

Compared with the use mode of traditional continuous caster, the secondary cooling end electromagnetic stirrer also has the effect of expanding the axial crystal rate of the billet. It plays a certain role in improving the loose environment inside the billet and improving the effect of central segregation of the billet.
