What is Induction Furnace?
What is Induction Furnace? Induction furnace is an induction heating equipment that everyone is familiar with. It is mainly composed of two parts and some auxiliary devices, namely the intermediate frequency power supply and the intermediate frequency furnace body.
In the induction furnace heating system, the intermediate frequency power supply and the induction melting furnace body cannot be used separately, that is to say, the intermediate frequency power supply and the intermediate frequency furnace body cannot be used alone.
The furnace body of the intermediate frequency furnace is equivalent to the heating head of the intermediate frequency furnace, which plays a decisive role in the heating of metal workpieces.
An electric furnace uses the induction electrothermal effect of materials to heat or melt materials. There are three types of AC power used in induction furnaces: power frequency (50 or 60 Hz), intermediate frequency (150-10000 Hz), and high frequency (higher than 10000 Hz).
The main components of induction furnaces include an inductor, a furnace body, a power supply, a capacitor, and a control system. Under the action of the alternating electromagnetic field in the induction furnaces, eddy currents are generated inside the material to achieve the effect of heating or melting. Induction furnaces are generally divided into induction heating furnaces and melting furnaces.
There are two types of melting furnaces: core induction furnaces and coreless induction furnaces.
The cored induction furnaces are mainly used for smelting and heat preservation of various cast iron and other metals. It can use waste furnace materials and has low smelting costs.
Coreless induction furnaces are divided into power-frequency induction furnaces, triple-frequency induction furnaces, intermediate-frequency induction furnaces for generator sets, intermediate-frequency induction furnaces for thyristors, and high-frequency induction furnaces.
The induction melting furnace with a power supply frequency in the range of 150-10000 Hz used in the intermediate frequency induction melting furnaces is called an intermediate frequency induction melting furnace, and its main frequency is in the range of 150-2500 Hz. The power frequency of domestic small-frequency induction furnaces is 150, 1000, and 2500 Hz.
The complete set of equipment of the intermediate frequency induction melting furnace includes the power supply and electrical control part, furnace body part, transmission device, and water cooling system.
Intermediate frequency induction melting furnaces body heating temperature:
- The heating temperature of the intermediate frequency induction furnace is 1200°C
- The heating temperature of the intermediate frequency melting furnace body is 1700°C
- The heating temperature of the metal quenching and tempering intermediate frequency furnace body is 300°C–1100°C
